Laniege and their pretty boys

A good Monday morning to all of you. It’s a beginning of yet another new week. The weather has been almost unbearable these days which makes me just want to turn into a hermit. It’s not all bad since it probably means I’ll find more time to sort out photos and blog more.

Some time back, I was invited by Laneige to learn more about Korean makeup trends and get a make over by a specially flown in Korean Makeup Artist, Romeo. I’m sure most of you have heard of this Korean brand or even tried their products before.

I’ve used their water sleeping pack for years and it’s always been an old favorite.

I realize recently that Korean boys are really pretty. I guess in the last few weeks I’ve been emerged in Korean drama series and got invited to a UKiss concert. The boys are all so pretty and have wonderful skin! LANEIGE brand ambassador Song Joong-ki is another example of a pretty face with good skin. I’m highlighting the male ambassador because I feel that guys can’t really wear heavy makeup on the streets so a good glowy complexion is important and I really want to have their skin condition.

I headed down to the event without makeup on.

Being early meant I could just sit around and relaxingly check out all of Laneige newest offerings.

I found this foundation applicator really cool. It helps to provide an even coverage using tapping motions, resulting in a better coverage with less foundation used!

Finally it was time for my makeover session with Romeo. I was assigned a translator as Romeo could speak only Korean.

Romeo got to work with his magical hands working effectively and efficiently. He told me that in Korea, everyone is obsessed with having good clear skin so they can put on as little make up as possible. The spring summer look is all about achieving a spotless glowing complexion with light orange tones for the lips and cheeks.

He highly recommended the Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion which is all the rage in Korea. BB creams are considered passe. BB cushions are the new trend because it is much easier to carry around and apply. The cushion is designed to give even coverage and contains SPF 50+ PA+++.

Eyes are downplayed with neutral colors though you can still draw eyeliners with a slight winged end if you like. He applied highlights to the bottom of my eyes to bring out youthfulness.

He used Laneige limited edition “Love Recipe” duo Lip pots for both my lips and to stain my cheeks. As you can see, he choose the most orangey color for me as pink is too common.

I love the warm effect. His makeup made my skin look flawless, glowing and yet radiating warmth without looking overdone.

Much thanks to Romeo for showing me how easy it is to achieve the Korean look. The Snow BB soothing Cushion is made for asian skin and is much lighter than most foundations so it holds up well and doesn’t melt  easily in our hot weather.

Posed for a couple of pictures for Laneige official photographer.

I rarely wear any foundation or BB cream unless I have a photo shoot or an important event. Even then, some foundations or BB cream still leave me with breakouts the day after using it. I didn’t get breakouts with Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion so I can definitely use it for my next event.

In case you are wondering, there are quite a few shades to choose from. I’m using No.21 natural beige.

I brought back quite a few goodies from Laneige to try that day and since I have some full sized versions, I’ve extended the travel version to the winner of my previous giveaway.

These were some items that my giveaway winner received.  I would usually do random giveaways (some even unannounced!) to followers of my instagram (@renzze) or my Facebook page. So if you haven’t followed me or liked my facebook page yet, don’t miss out!

    Hi renzze,

I love this look of yours.Did the make up artist just put on the bb cushion and nothing else ? Did he use a primer or loose powder?

      Hi Bargainqueen,

He spritz on some Laniege water bank mineral skin mist before and after but there was no primer or loose powder. Just the BB cushion.
