Best Dry Bah Kut Teh – Yap Chuan

While we were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Aikee brought my mother and I to try Yap Chuan Bah Kut Teh at Puchong who were supposed to be very famous for their dry BahKut Teh. I’ve personally never tried dry bah kut teh before so I was really curious to know how it’ll be like compared to the usual soup versions I’m used to.

As it turns out, the place serves both the soup and dry version so we ordered both types. The amazing thing is that the dry bah kut teh recipe was developed and created by a 14 year old child chef! Son of the owner and apparently a child prodigy when it comes to cooking. Of course, by now the 14 year old is probably a teen and no longer a child. However, he’s still behind the helm of the kitchen at this place.

The verdict? My mother is in love with the dry bah kut teh and finished up most of it! I feel that the dry bah kut teh seems to be almost a different dish of it’s own and it’s really unfair to compare it to the soup version despite the name. However, I do find that it is tasty and both a mix of dry and soup versions make a really good meal combination. If you are in the area and want to check them out, their address is:

After lunch, it was some shopping then we headed to Taman Tun area for some serious foot reflexology session. My mum enjoyed the session so much she actually fell asleep and was snoring! If you like the strong sort of foot massage, this place has has the right massues. It was painful but at the end of the session, it eases all the knots and cramps really does get your blood circulation flowing. Looking at the photos, I’m totally craving for a massage session cause my neck and shoulders are super tight from hunching in front of the computer all day! Unfortunately, this week is another super busy week for me and I’m expecting to be glued to my computer screens with lots of text, numbers and graphs to accompany me on long nights.
