West lake is nothing short of a natural beauty and a cultural hub. There are many bridges and special locations around the lake that has been immortalized by poets, kings and flim. But I didn’t go around looking for these specific spots. Instead, I was contented with wandering the circumference of the lake and the causeways just taking photos wherever and whenever.
West lake is the top tourist spot for anyone that goes to Hangzhou so you do fine a tout or two along the way. But the locals also love their lake and they would gather here to stroll, do tai chi or practice singing their Chinese opera.
Other than just strolling around, you just have gotta take a boat ride to see the different isles in the middle of the lake as well! And I’ll go into detail on those in my next post.
Reading thru your post abt your trip to China makes me so “guilty”. I had been to China for so many times for work, but I never get to see such beautiful places while in China… Haha! I think it’s time seriously thinking of extending my trip to such beautiful places after my business trip…. 🙂
Katherine,
Don’t be guilty! I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes when I travel for work, I hardly take any photos or have time to tour around. My hotel could be in the middle of the city and yet I wouldn’t get a chance to sightsee.
