Lunch in the Mekong Village

Back on the boat down a few river bends, transfer to yet another smaller sampan boat to travel the canals of another island within the Mekong Delta before reaching the “restaurant” for lunch.

The food and service were both excellent in this canal side restaurant. We were having lunch in a little pavilion built on stilts above the river and could see the passing boats of people and goods as we ate.

The cuisine was local Vietnamese dishes and we started of with some noodle, vegetable and fish wrapped in rice paper. The fish came whole and the staff de-boned and scaled the entire thing with just a few cuts with his knife.

Other than that, there were other dishes such as fried rice, meat, vegetable, soup and fried “dim sum” to complete the meal!
