Happy to be Home

I’ve been traveling so much lately that I’ve not had time to sort out photos or blog but I hope to get down to them by next week. I just got back to Singapore a few days ago and soon after I fell ill. It wasn’t totally unexpected since my body had to endure some extreme weather changes especially in my last trip. With the advances of technology, the world is now accessible within hours and flying back to Singapore meant that I had to adjust from a freezing -32C climate to a hot and humid 30c climate in a flash.  While being sick sucks, I’m glad that I held up well the last 2-3 months and didn’t fall ill till most of my major traveling adventures were over.

I missed most of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Singapore but I’m glad that I still made it back in time for 元宵 (the celebration of the 15th day of the lunar new year). Spent my first couple of days back having meals with family and close friends and attended Watsons Beauty Day Out and Bata events. It feels kinda surreal to be back and also very warm and cozy. As much as I love traveling and learning from new experiences, nothing beats the comfortablility of being at home with my dogs and having friends and family for dinners. I don’t think my wanderlust has totally died yet but for now I’m happy to be home. It’s true that very often we don’t miss the comforts we have till we don’t have them.

Quite a few people have asked me why I haven’t been blogging about my travels and told me that they are eager to see where I’ve been and what I’ve done. I’ll love to share them and am currently uploading about 3 months worth of photos on my computers, backing them up and sorting them for watermarking. It’s going to take forever quite awhile and most of the experiences that I’ll be blogging about in the next month won’t be very current but I’ll blog about it anyways and I hope you won’t mind my sharing.

If you have been following my instagram, you’ve been able to make out the timeline of where I’ve been and when over the last 3 months. But I started my travels spree sometime in September 2012 with short trips and then came back in Oct/Nov to spend some time playing tour guide to my aunt and uncle who flew down from the states to spend time with family.

Took them to most touristy places together with my parents and how could I miss the Christmas lightups along Orchard Road then.

I simply adore it when my mum gets all cheesy and funny. She’s always game for anything!

My aunt and uncle have already left to head back to the states. I have more photos to share about my little sightseeing trips with them around Singapore but I’ve not uploaded them all yet so it’ll just have to be blogged about in drips and draps.

Today, I picked up Andrew and Grace from the airport and I’m so excited to be able to spend some time with them and bringing them around Singapore. It probably means I might not have time to blog as much as I want to. There’s always so many things I want to do but just too little time! Then again, life is all about choices. Have a great mid-week!
