While you would see hoards of tourists around the Ngong Ping town and the Giant Buddha, most of them don’t make the trip to see the Wisdom Path which is a great pity. Situated on a winding path in the mountains are 38 huge wooden beams with the inscription of the heart sutra.
This is the place to go if you want to sit with nature and meditate. If you are Buddhist, you can recite the heart sutra on the beams as you walk or if you are like me, you could just take the opportunity to absorb the serenity of the place and take some pictures.
I wish I had time to visit the Tai-O village or the beach to see the Chinese White Dolphines (pink colored ones) playing in the waters. But we wanted to get back to Hong Kong Island for dinner so a quick mango dessert stop at the nearby shop and back on the cable car we go!
