Shou Sui

One of the traditional customs practiced on Chinese New Year Eve is to Shou Sui 守岁. It is believed that by staying awake all night on the Eve, it’ll increase longevity for the elders in your family. I kinda suspect it was an excuse for the young ones to party all night. Anyhow, this year, other than my sister, Clara and Steven came over to my place to Shou Sui with me. We wanted to play mahjong but ended up eating pineapple tarts, reading magazines, watching cheesy  Stephen Chow old  movies on the telly and playing cards instead.
