Pamper our Tresses

Our first meal together was at a nearby joint across the road from our hotel. It’s good! Maybe cause we were famished and it’s cold… but I think it’s more because japanese food always taste best when cooked and eaten in Japan! They beat any japanese restaurant we have in Singapore hands down… and it’s not even that expensive!

Except for Sushi, the other 3 of us hardly had any sleep at all the night before… so it’s amazing we still had energy to be taking photos and having a good time!

After our stomachs were satisfied we roamed around the area… checking out the neighborhood and planing our activities for the next day.

That’s when a super pink salon caught our eyes! It’s call Dears and it was a 24 hours hair salon… really crowded even though it was 12am! We made a split second decision and all of us decided to cut our hair there.

The weirdest thing was that when it was my turn to sit on that pink chair to get my hair washed, I suddenly had a de ja vu!!! Months ago, I actually had a dream of us 4 girls being in this pink shop having our hair done. I didn’t think much of the dream then… and had totally forgotten about it. Given all 4 of our busy schedule, it was impossible to have had the time to do our hair together. But when I sat in that very seat and saw the same scenario I saw in my dreams.. I recalled that dream. It was such a weird feeling… so surreal!

I know that a number of you girls out there would love to have a good haircut down on your next Japan trip. Well, this place is only so- so to me. I’ve done my hair in Japan on many separate trips and so far the standard has always been pretty good. I especially love the haircut given to Koji, she looked so refresh after he layered her hair.  But of the 3 salon I tried, my favorite is still the one at 109. If you are headed to Tokyo, you can go to the hair salon in Shibuya 109, 8th floor. There’s only one hair salon there so you can’t miss it! And if you want a 24 hour joint… try DaDa Cubic and their addy is 1F Shibuyamitake Bldg. 1-19-5 Shibuya. Here’s their number in case you can’t find them -03-5766-8282. Cabs are expensive in Tokyo so if you are not living in Shibuya then visit them on regular hours so you can take the train back!

We finished up and reach back at the hotel at 2-3 am in the morning. Despite being tired, the adrenaline high of being in Japan hasn’t settled so we spent another good hour so so chit-chatting and doing crazy stuff in our little 4 bedded tatami room before we ended the night.

Gotta go now but more to come tomorrow!

    Katherine,

Yes I love visiting Japan… I would love to go back after the swine flu craze dies and when I have more time on my hands.

    Min,

I hope you ended up with a good hair cut anyways! Their hair cut is about $40.
