Normally, mum will cook Chinese New Year dinner on the first day and we’ll have a mini dinner gathering just among my immediate family members without the extended family. But this year I wasn’t around on the first day so the immediate family dinner was post-poned. When I got back I decided to treat them to a simple dinner instead so my mum didn’t have to fuss.
Of course, no CNY dinner could be complete without yu sheng. It’s always fun and I do personally like to eat this festive dish. Even though it was already halfway through the 15 days of CNY, the Hong Kong Streets Restaurant we went to was still pretty packed with people! I supposed that everyone was still in the festive mood.
In case you were wondering, I only have one younger sister and the other young boy in the photo is her boyfriend and not by brother. 😉
