Batam Go-Kart

The next thing we did was to go try out the go-kart near the Harris hotel. I would much rather have gone to play the air guns but I guess majority rules!

We bought our vouchers from the hotel reception and they provided transport to and fro the go-kart arena. This is a very rudimentary go-kart course. Don’t expect it to be fancy!

Here’s a video of the race conditions.

( Those viewing my notes on facebook would not be able to see the video. You need to go to www.renzze.com)

After the go-kart we caught the free shuttle service from the Harris hotel to the town. There was nothing much I really fancied buying in Batam but it was nice to shop around and look for food stuffs and mandi lulurs.

Gio got excited over pancakes. And bought a whole box!

I, on the other hand, being typically Singaporean, got excited over getting to drink my childhood favorite A & W root beer float.

And see what advertisment I came across in the mall?

LOL… our poor SIA girls image has now been reduced to promoting massage services.

The architecture behind me reminds me so much of Bali! I’ll be planning a Bali holiday yet again and honestly I can’t wait!

Lunch was recommended at this little restaurant by the locals. It’s about the same concept as the “Rice Table” restaurant concept in Singapore but just a lot more dishes. The give you a whole range of 30++ dishes of food and they only charge what you eat!

What is more amazing is how the waiter delivers the food! Just see the number of plates of food he can carry with one hand! My jaws literally dropped! I guess you need to have some plate carrying talent to work at this joint!

There was just so much food! The choices you have are unbelievable! Great if you want to experience all the Indonesian cuisine.

After our extremely hearty meal, we headed back to the main shopping area to go supermarket shopping. We need to get some snacks and drinks so we could chill out by the pool at the hotel.

Guess what interesting thing we saw in the supermarket?

Durian flavored condoms!!! Gosh! As creative as it is, it doesn’t sound enticing at all. LOL.

And to make it even more exciting, there’s the party pack!

You can totally imagine us all laughing and creating possible weird scenerios at the supermarket right.

More photos and videos of my Batam getaway in my next post.
