Last month, I was invited to preview Bata Spring Summer 2013 collection. Bata is a brand we all grew up with and almost everyone thinks that Bata is “local”. In actual fact, Bata is founded in the Czech Republic and has been a successful international family run business. Today, its acting headquarters is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. Bata is a retail presence in over 70 countries and production facilities in 26 countries. In its history the Bata has sold more than 14 billion pairs of shoes and was awarded the Guinness World Record as the “Largest Shoe Retailer and Manufacturer”.
While I may have first known Bata through its school shoes, I now know that it has dozens of collections and lines for different ages and price ranges. Indeed, it has stuck fast to it’s misson of “Shoes For All”.
They had a few directions for their 2013 Spring Summer collection but their candy theme shoes and color block bags were the main attraction for me.
I simply loved the colors and contemporary clean lines. It’s eye-catching without stealing too much limelight from your outfits.
Regina and I had a field day choosing the shoes and bags that would match our outfits.
It’s always a good idea to put shopaholics buddies in a show room full of the latest bags and shoes. There isn’t even any need to entertain us, we’re self entertained!
While there were many possibilites that were going through my mind, I eventually settled for these pink wedges that went perfectly with my pink summer dress.
As for the bag, I chose this jewel colored blue and green color blocked clutch in a nice velvety texture. They also had this same clutch in pink but I felt that I need the contrast of colors to break up my overly pink outfit. This clutch can even be converted to a sling bag! How convenient.
Some of you might have already seen me in this outfit on Bata Singapore Facebook Page as they ran a little contest amongst the bloggers. I had been traveling again soon after the event and didn’t have time to blog about the contest ended so I’m super appreciative of those of you who had voted for me even before I blogged about it. Thanks for the support.
