Valentino Show

One hundred pieces of exquisite haute couture designs by Italian maestro, Valentino Garavani, was featured in a curated exhibition at Resorts World Sentosa and Jolene, Regina and myself wanted to go see those gorgeous dresses for ourselves. Clara was supposed to come as well but she couldn’t make it in the end and my sister Janice, took her place instead.

I love quite a number of dresses with the above 6 one of the top few on my list! The exhibition is entitled “Past/Present/Future” to underline the importance of the maison through history. It narrates the history of Valentino’s couture – and that of creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, who were entrusted with the role in 2008 – from the 1950s to the present day. The unique pieces have been worn by royalty, celebrities or are just absolute one off creations.

Being highly inspired by the beauty of fashion, we spent the rest of the day shopping and each of us spent quite a bit on beauty products and clothes!

The dress I wore that day was a gift from one of my regular readers, Lynn of http://dandyblush.livejournal.com . I love this vintage-inspired rose cotton embroidered dress that features a cotton crochet hem with intricately cut-out petals. The nicest surprise I had about this dress is that the inner layer has a built-in safety short so it’s extremely comfortable despite the sexy cut-out bottom!
