Recently, Aikee came to Singapore with his friends and I was supposed to have taken them to Universal Studios. But nothing happened as planned and among the things that went wrong that day, Universal Studios was actually all sold out for the day!! Even though we went before noon and it was a weekday! I was a little shocked at how popular the park was. I personally visited Universal Singapore once when it first opened at the beginning of 2010 and today I’ll share the photos of the visit with you in this post.
I have been to all the different Universal Studios theme parks except the one in Spain which has closed down in 2004. My favorite one is Universal Studios Hollywood in California, USA and I had such a wonderful time doing the VIP tour of the real movie sound stages and sets. A close contender would be Universal Orlando, Florida. The Universal Studios Singapore is a lot smaller but that is to be expected in our tiny island country.
I had fun trying out all the 18 rides and I really had a good laugh at the Monster Rock show. The Mummy is currently my favorite roller coaster in the park.
As most of you would know, the main roller coaster in the park, The Battlestar Galactica, is the tallest dueling roller coaster in the world. However, due to technical glitches, the ride will only open sometime in the summer of 2011. I don’t know if I will have the guts to ride that ride when it opens. I’m looking forward to another ride, Transformers – The Ride, to be release in the latter part of 2011.
I guess there’s a high chance that I’ll revisit Universal Studios Singapore in 2011 since I have quite a number of friends overseas that would love to spend a day at the theme park when they come visit me in Singapore. And as a side note to my dear friends who have been asking me about the park, the photos of the studios are in this post so you can have a rough idea.
