The Peak

More shopping was in order before heading to the Victoria Peak which stands at 552m.

We took the peak tram up to the top. The tram covers a distance of about 1.4 kilometres and a height difference of just under 400 metres so you can imagine how steep the incline is! Before the tram was built they used sedans to carry up the rich who had residences up the hill… it is insane!

At the top there is a shopping complex as well as several good restaurants. We went up the Sky Terrace to take a good look of the city from the top. The view is pretty though the sky terrace is rather crowded with many tourist and photographers waiting to capture the perfect shot.

The other main attraction at the peak is Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The Hong Kong branch houses over 100 wax figures and each one is worth more than HK$ one million each!!

They take about 500 measurements from each celebrity before starting to construct the wax figurines so they are really very accurate. You can see up close how these famous stars would be like in person and run your fingers through their muscles. Each eye is hand painted to achieve the exact color of the celebrity eye color and they use real human hair (which is a tad eerie to me.) Most of the clothes worn are donated by the celebs themselves.

Fancy a tea with the Queen?

This small little woman is Madam Tussauds, the French artist that started the wax museum.

There are really too many photos take we took in this attraction. After all the whole idea of visiting the wax museum is to stand by your favorite personalities and capture a moment where you otherwise might never get a chance. I’m pretty nerdy to love Einstein but I think he looks pretty cool with his crazy hairstyle. He’s probably one of the most brilliant scientist. Pierce Brosnan has got to be my favorite 007 followed closely by Sean Connery.

Andy Lau, he’s just so handsome! And this wax figure actually has a heartbeat. I could just hug him and let his heartbeat lull me to sleep!

Johnny Depp is always on my list of hot men. Do I look like I could join him on his pirates set?

Guess who I saw representing Singapore? Our famous Mr Lee of course!

Janice looks like a sore loser! But who could blame her? Tiger Woods is just so irritatingly good at golf he doesn’t give anyone else a chance!

Kylie Minogue is exactly the same size and height as me! She’s slightly taller in this picture cause she wore heels while I had flats on. But I’m really surprise she’s so petite cause she doesn’t look that tiny on MTV. I guess I’ll love to be able to share her wardrobe now that I know I’ll fit perfectly in her clothes!

He may be from a different era but Elvis is still a looker! He’s got this sexy vibe that makes me weak just like how I feel about James Dean.

The night was spent at the night markets shopping where Janice got her humongous Ultra Man for Shannon. She was stopped by several locals that loved her purchase.

My post ends with my dinner photos cause looking at them caused my tummy to rumble and I’m off to cook some noodles for myself. Enjoy the video of my day at the peak =)
