Tamarind Hill

The last time I ventured to Labrador Park was to take a couple of my wedding photos there. Recently, I went back there again to attend the launch of a brand new Thai restaurant, Tamarind Hill. It’s always a wonderful thing when old colonial or historical buildings are preserved and integrated into the contemporary times instead of just demolishing them and rebuilding more sky scrapers.

Tamarind Hill is a stand alone beautiful, sprawling 10,000 sq ft bungalow colonial house in the middle of the lush and serene Labrador park. It is the newest Thai fine dining restaurant to watch out for. I simply love the decor and generally have a soft spot for unique places even if it might be a tad harder to get to. It’s all about the sense of an adventure!

It was a nice night of drinks and yummy thai canapés as I explored the lovely restored villa restaurant. It was a party that day with lots of entertainers but I think I would love to come back on a quiet night with a couple of close pals for intimate drinks and an exotic Thai cuisine dinner. Away from the bustling town, in a hidden sanctuary where the past and the present co-exist so beautifully.
