Steamboat @Joo Chiat

It was Lerelyns’ recommendation that Raphael and I should try out this steamboat joint in Joo Chiat which is famous for it’s fish meat kuey tiao. Basically it’s fish hand made into strips that look like flat noodle. It was definitely interesting and quite yummy though I find that the individual costing of ingredients made this steamboat a little on the pricey side. After all there is a huge market of competition among the steamboat joints in Singapore and most of them offer a buffet spread with unlimited servings for a decent price.

    I’ve often wondered why it’s called a steamboat when you do not cook your food using steam. And it definitely doesn’t resemble a boat…
