Shaw IMAX at JCube

I fell in love with the IMAX experience when it was first available at the Singapore Science Centre. Of course, in those days, the only IMAX movies you saw were documentaries and I really enjoyed the experience. That was 10 years ago and I always wondered why local cinemas couldn’t have IMAX for regular Hollywood blockbusters. Fast-forward 10 years and now we do! In 2011,  Shaw Theatres Lido opened with  Singapore’s first and only IMAX digital theatre.

People like me who had been wishing for an IMAX got excited! After all, IMAX’s Digital Theatre System is the world’s most immersive movie experience. Shaw Theatres IMAX Digital Theatres follow strict guidelines laid out by IMAX.  IMAX’s patented theatre geometry maximises your field of vision, and along with the projector’s dual image technology, special silver-coated screen and proprietary loudspeaker technology, provide the most immersive cinematic experience.  The hall features a steeper gradient to ensure close proximity to screen for all viewers.

I would specifically choose the IMAX to watch blockbusters like Transformers: Dark of the Moon as it enhances the whole view experience. Obviously, I wasn’t the only person that felt that way because on 5 April 2012, Shaw Theaters decided to open their 2nd IMAX theater at JCube. I was invited to try out the IMAX experience at JCube with a movie screening of The Amazing Spiderman. Not much photos were taken as I was inside the movie theater most of the time. The number of seats for the IMAX hall at JCube is 159 for 2D and 124 for 3D which is a lot smaller than the one at Lido but once the lights are off and the movie is showing, the experience is just as good at the IMAX at Lido!

Watching The Amazing Spiderman on 3D IMAX only confirms my believe that the IMAX experience is probably the best movie experience you can expect in Singapore. You can expect me at an IMAX again very soon as  I want to catch Christopher Nolan’s epic conclusion to the The Dark Knight Trilogy.  The movie opens in IMAX Digital on 19 July 2012.  Half of the movie is shot with IMAX film cameras!  Only in the IMAX theatre will these scenes expand on screen to reveal even more details and bring to life the jaw-dropping, explosive action.

Before I end this post, I want to announce another exciting news about IMAX! Shaw is currently working on its next multiplex at Waterway Point in Punggol, which is slated for completion in 2014. Shaw Theatres, Waterway Point will feature Singapore’s third digital IMAX theatre! This one will be nearer to me than the current 2 IMAX theaters so I’m excited!

Hi, I love your cartier watch. I am in the midst of wanting to buy a timepiece but I do not know to decide on which brand as I am currently looking at buying either a Rolex (another one to add to my collections) or a Cartier. As I did not own any Cartier timepiece before, I hope you can share a bit of your experience of your Cartier timepiece with me and your advice for me, eg what I should look out for in the timepiece, etc. And also what is the name of your Cartier timepiece and the price for it? Is leather a good choice or braclet type a good choice? Should I buy a quartz or automatic? What is their warranty for the timepieces? By the way, I am buying another timepiece to add to my collections and I already have other various brands already but not Cartier yet. Thanks alot for your time and help.
