Marina Barrage

Saturdays are always eventful for me.

Here’s what I did last Saturday. I met my mum up for Peranakan lunch at Ivin before my dance class.

Then I headed for dance class while Mummy went shopping. I changed my shoes for dance of course… but these wedges I bought when I went shopping with Bernice is so comfy!

After dance the girls asked me to meet them at Marina Barrage for charcoal steamboat dinner at the 7 storey restaurant there. It’s my first time visiting the Barrage since it opened.

The Marina Barrage is built across the reclaimed lands of Marina East and Marina South. This dam creates Singapore’s largest freshwater reservoir and increases the no. of reservoir we have to 15.

Daryl and Sushi were the first to arrive the extremely packed restaurant. I had no idea it would be so crowded in such an off beat location but I guess everything new in Singapore becomes a huge draw since we all live on such a tiny island.

Koji as usual was really late so dinner dragged on till pretty late.

The pear ice-cream was really cute. It very well formed and even has chocolate seeds in the middle!

Last course was yam with gingko nuts before heading off to Sushi’s place for a Guitar Hero session.

Fay, Sushi, Koji and Jester went prawning late that night. I didn’t join cause I had work to do the next day… next time perhaps.

    Wendy,

Oh you did your wedding photoshoot at Marina Barrage? It’s a pretty place… both day and night.

    Jaslynn,

Well, I’m not sure what you classify as expensive or cheap… There were 8 of us having steamboat and the bill came up to around $270.
