Lucerne is one of the most popular cities in Switzerland and I can totally understand the attraction. The charming city is extremely well located and is considered by many to be the gateway to central Switzerland. The old town is pretty tiny and can be easily covered on foot. I love the colored buildings and the many pretty murals painted on the buildings.
Although the town is small, it is very well preserved and has very beautiful old European architecture. There are many squares in the area, each with it’s own unique view or fountain. You can also find a lot of al fresco restaurant seating as both locals and tourists enjoy the great weather dinning outdoors while admiring the historical buildings.
