Last day in Vietnam

My final post to conclude my Vietnam trip.

I had one last day before departing to go back to Singapore and I had to at least check out the Saigon Opera House. Another lovely building by the French, it is shaped and inspired by the L’Opéra Garnier in Paris though it is less grand looking. This could also because some of the details on the facade of the buildings were removed from the original as they claimed the building to look too complicated and not modern looking enough. Even though restoration works have been done to return some of the detailing, not all the engravings and statues have been restored.

The rest of the day were spent bargain hunting at malls such as Saigon Square for children clothes to give my girlfriend’s kids. I found a wonderful nail parlor but didn’t have enough time to do an acrylic set of nails so I decided to go have a long and satisfying dinner at a nearby restaurant instead.

By the time I reached the airport several hours later, it was pouring like cats and dogs. While waiting for my flight to depart, I gave in to the temptation of Singaporean laksa at the airport.

Had a gorgeous flight home and will be looking forward to visiting Vietnam again because there are so many places I’ve yet to explore!
