Ipoh Soya Beancurd and Beansprout Chicken

In Ipoh, a city of cuisine, people from all over come here just to eat their local specialties! Being a huge fan of soya beancurd, I had to try out Funny Mountain which is reputed to have soft smooth soya beancurd and milk. At a cheap RM0.80 a bowl, this was probably the best tau fu fa (or better known as tau huay in Singapore) I’ve tried in the whole of Malaysia!

The queue was long but fast and they do drive through orders as well! I was told by the staff that their soya beans are specially imported from Canada as they give the best flavor.

Next up was lunch around the corner. Beansprout Chicken- a well-known dish in Ipoh. The supposedly famous one is called Lou Wong where everyone would have to visit. But friends and family told me that the locals actually prefer On Kee which is next to Lou Wong because the standard is better and not so touristy. Anyhow, I’ve tried both and concluded they are both just as good! This time we went to the On Kee stall instead for my Nga Choi Kai fix!
