I love Ikea

I love going Ikea shopping, finding the little bargains and getting ideas for my little DIY home improvement projects. So when Ikea offered me an insight look into their business, I was excited!

I headed down to Tampines Ikea for a little tour and found out even more little nuggets of facts about their operations which only fueled my love for Ikea. I totally love how they encourage people to bring their old newspapers to be recycled there and those newspapers will then be brought to the self-packaging counters for customers to wrap their breakables which means, nothing goes to waste!

Ikea is also extremely kids friendly. They have a very popular kids playground where parents can drop off their kids while they shop. For those who like to have their children follow them along, there are little stations located randomly around their store with interactive games for the little ones. Of course kids generally don’t need help to find fun in such a huge store like Ikea.

While heading into their employee only zone, I saw these huge notice boards on either side of the alleyway which shows performances, feedback and even had little love notes from employees to other employees. What a wonderful environment to work in!

Dinner was served in their staff area and it was really cozy. It seems that everyone is a huge fan of Ikea’s food. I’ve always loved their signature meat balls and chicken wings. That day I tried their grilled fish which was really good! And tried the Lingam berry drink. A personal recommendation is to mix the Lingam berry syrup with sprite… yummy!

There’s always something for everybody at Ikea and I left the place with new toys for Louis and Emmie.  I think the kids finger puppets are the cutest but Louis very much preferred his new bear pal. And if any of you are thinking of Christmas presents for your kids or dogs this year, pop by to Ikea to pick up a couple of their stuff toys and a proceed of that sale goes to UNICEF! Ikea is their largest corporate donor! So get your gifts and help children all over the world just by getting Ikea stuff toys.

Here’s my outfit shot of the day 🙂
