Happy 47th Birthday, Singapore!

How did you all spend your National Day this year? I wasn’t lucky enough to score a ticket to the NDP but I love the sea of red I saw when I drove pass the floating platform just 2 days ago.

I’m a born Singaporean and I’ve always been proud to be a part of this tiny but mighty little red dot. Traveling and living around the world has only made me love Singapore even more and I feel that a lot of Singaporeans don’t really appreciate how very blessed we are to be a part of this country.

I didn’t do anything special on National Day. I just spent the day with family, going out with my grandparents in the day and having dinner with my parents at night. It made me realize that I need to put family in priority and not work. In a way, after speaking in depth to my close ones, it fueled a large thought process for change.

My mum being Peranakan loves nynoya food so I brought my parents for dinner at Heartland Mall. I didn’t know that they had a branch there till recently.

We ordered all the usual favorites and it was a super filling dinner. It’s a wonder how we even found space for local delights such as muah chee, tutu kueh and what-nots after dinner! The food is simple but the tastes are what I grew up with and it makes me feel comforted and safe. Home is truly where the heart is, where family is. I love you Singapore and wherever I go, I’ll always think of you as my home.

Happy 47th Birthday Singapore.

      Hi Melody,

It’s a Cartier Santos. As it was a gift, I don’t know the exact price but I would price it in the 7K – 8K range.
