Gardens of Versailles

The gardens of Versaillies is huge! About 800 hectors to be exact and it is the epitome of the classical French gardenstyle perfected here by André Le Nôtre , a French landscape architect and royal gardener to King Louis XIV. One of the more remarkable things of the garden other than it’s perfectly sculptured lawn is that there are countless of elaborate fountains and ponds.

Most of the fountains are inspired by the myths of the Roman Gods and it would have been very interesting for me to relate each fountain to their original tale had I the time to do so. Here’s a video of the main palace hall and the gardens. ( please view at www.renzze.com )
