These days, blogshops are a dime a dozen. Which is why I get really excited when I find one that really stands out. That brings it’s own flaire of eccentricity and makes me want to buy everything in their inventory. My Jotterbook (already the name sounds kinda quirky for a online fashion store) has brought in some lovely book clutches that I’ve been eyeing for awhile.
I love book clutches and own two from Kate Spade and was seriously eyeing on some Olympia Le-Tan book clutches on Net-a-porter as well. Of course, the USD1,562 price tag made me grip my credit card and reconsider my impulse. As luck would have it, My Jotterbook was bringing in affordable book clutches from P.S. Besitos by Jessica Bermudez and sending me a surprise selection!
You can’t imagine how excited I was to get their package. It comes with a free jotter book so you can pen down your outfit inspirations!
Everything was so beautifully wrapped which really makes me even more eager to see which book clutch and and cuff they were surprising me with. I felt like a little girl on christmas morning!
They picked a gorgeous brass cuff with one of my favorite quotes from William Shakespeare. These girls really knew my fashion tastes well! “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.” is from William Shakespeare play: “All’s Well That Ends Well”.
Finally, the unwrapping of the book clutch. It’s a “Emma by Jane Austen” clutch. Love love love the romantic pink and I actually did read this classic when I was 15 years old.
Immediately I knew of so many outfits that would go beautifully with this book clutch. Actually, book clutches are one of the easiest accessories to match because it never looks out of place. It’s never odd to be spotted with a book in your hand. Take a cue from some of these Hollywood celebs that matched theirs with red carpet looks!
I didn’t have any formal events my calendar till 2 weeks later but I couldn’t wait to take my book clutch and new cuff out for a spin immediately thus I decided to just throw on the cuff and book clutch onto whatever I was wearing that day.
It was a super casual outfit as I was going to take my dogs for a walk in the park followed by attending a musical with friends that night. I had initially had on a hermes leather cuff and a Chanel boy bag. When I substituted those with the brass cuff and Emma book clutch, my look became so much more refined and less rock. Perfect for the activities I was planning that day.

Brass cuff: My Jotterbook
Book clutch: My Jotterbook
Watch and Earrings: Chanel
Shoes: Marc Jacobs
It was such a beautiful day at the park and I was so delighted with my new book clutch that I couldn’t help taking a few more photos 🙂
In fact, this is going to be a pretty long post. If you are a regular reader, you’ll know that my outfit posts are usually pretty short but I fell in love with the book clutch and couldn’t help myself.
Which only goes to prove how very versatile this book clutch is. It matches any outfit, casual or formal and adds such an interesting conversational piece to my wardrobe.
I’ve worn both the cuff and the book out a couple of times since these photos were taken and so many people have asked me about them. I even had a very enthusiastic stranger come approach me to ask where she can buy my book clutch as told me she had her eyes on it since I walked into the cafe. Most of the people I met insist I give them the website right away cause they couldn’t wait for my post to be out. lol.
Here’s a close up of the brass cuff.
And I also want to show you the lovely quote that you can find behind my Emma book clutch which is such awesome advice. The clutches are all made in Italy and come in limited numbers for each design.
Since the day I got the book clutch, I’ve used it on several events. Such as paired with my floral dress when I went to Savor 2013 which is Singapore biggest Gourmet Festival and to the Singapore Auto Show. Both of which I will be writing about soon.
And just yesterday, I attended the Queen Elizabeth Cup at the Singapore Turf Club and I matched my book clutch with my lace and silk vintage ball gown. (Since this event just happened yesterday, I haven’t really sorted the photos but you’ll read more about it in a future post.)
Basically, it just shows you how absolutely versatile this book clutch is.
Now for some bad news. The Emma Book clutch that you see in my photos is already sold out.
Don’t be too disappointed just yet. Because My Jotterbook carries a whole range of other book clutch designs from P.S. Besitos by Jessica Bermudez.
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin.
Alice in Wonderland.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
They also have The Little Prince, Peter Rabbit, Moby Dick and more. But everything is in limited quantity and with a price of $89.90, it’s really a tiny fraction of what it would cost to buy an Olympia Le-Tan Book clutch. No wonder they are selling out fast. I’m considering to get another one as well!
Just to illustrate how “hot” book clutches are, even Chanel has jumped on the book clutch bandwagon. But I don’t want to think about how much theirs might cost or if it’s even easily obtainable.
Well, as my titled states, it wasn’t only the book clutch that made my day. While browsing My Jotterbook website, I found so many other items that I really liked as well. While they did sponsor me the book clutch, all these photos and sharing are done on my own free will as I truly believe that good things ought to be shared.
My valentine printed heart bag.
My kitty totes in various colors.
I love their unique collection and I hope you enjoyed sharing my joy too!
PS – Special Update: The peeps at MyJotterBook read my post and so kindly offered a SGD3 off each transaction for Renzze.com readers. All you have to do is type Renzze at the checkout. Remember it is case sensitive. This offer is from 27th April 2013 to 31st May only. Gonna do some shopping of my own before you girls grab all the bags!
Wish u will have a sales post..i really like yr items like bags/shoes but cant afford at original price.
It would be gd to be able to get it at 2nd hand n lower price 🙂
Hi Yuki,
I used to do sales posts but find it rather troublesome to do meetups, mails and stuff like that especially since I’m not earning from my sales so these days I just pass them to family and close friends. There are many alternatives that sell 2nd hand items at lower prices. Now it seems it’s very trendy for people to post them via instagram.
