Here’s the truth, I’ve been to Hong Kong countless of times so I’ve seen most of the attractions. Since Eleanor hasn’t been to Hong Kong before, we’ll squeeze a couple in but she’s not really a sightseeing sorta gal. Her main motive is to shop till we drop so that’s what we did most days. And I don’t usually take photos when shopping. But I do remember my camera when we sit down to let our tired legs rest and recap our exciting buys.
Elie and I stopped for afternoon tea at Cafe Landmark . It was surprising packed for a weekday afternoon but the queue moved fast. A whole array of cakes and a cup of tea later, we were ready to conquer the rest of the central area again!
There are so many stores in Hong Kong that it can get overwhelming. Just covering the luxury brands in Landmark can send my head in disarray. If you are in Hong Kong and you love to shop brand names, a couple of places you should check out in the central area (other than the usual Armani, Prada, Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Max & Co, Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Celine, Ermenegildo Zegna, Escada, Gucci) would be the Babe store at Queens Road, MCM flagship store, Harvey Nichols, Joyce Boutique and until Singapore opens her own, the H & M store.
Parents can check out Abebi at the Landmark or Bumps at Horizon Plaze for their children. For housewares and knickknacks which I have a penchant for buying, visit G.O.D (Goods of Desire) at Hollywood Road, Homeless at Gough Street and Ecols which is also at Gough Street.
I’ve only began to touch the beginning of our shopping route! But even dedicating a whole day to shopping didn’t allow us to visit them all. This was fantastic news for our wallets of course!
We spent the evening having a Japanese dinner, reminiscing about our past and planning our possible future. This carried on late into the wee hours of the night and we spent most of our nights in Hong Kong just enjoying the company that you can only get with your oldest friend.
