Despair

Some of my regular readers emailed me to ask why I haven’t updated my blog the last couple of days as they have been getting used to a daily post. Well, I’ve just got back to Singapore to find that my computer died on me with tons of data, photos and memories wiped out. It’s excruciating to be so absolutely helpless about the whole situation. I would have to take a couple of days to try and retrieve whatever that’s left of my corrupted hard disks so I won’t be blogging these few days.  Other than working hard to retrieve and do manual backups, I’ll also be looking into buying a new computer to replace this one.

By the way, since we are on this topic, did you know that professional data retrieval services are crazily expensive? I was quoted $700 to $900 just for a portion of my data!!! They said that you can’t put a price on memories but I think they just did.

Anyhow, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed and working really hard to do all I can and hopefully be blogging again soon.

XOXO,

Renzze

      Starz,

Thanks! I’ll give him a call if the one my friend recommended me doesn’t work out.

      Conked Out,

Yes… frustrating is the word but I’ve already learnt to let go. I’m such a slave to technology.

      Charmaine,

Thanks so much for your offer! Your friend must be so relieved! I went to a couple of IT specialist and depending on what went wrong with the hard drive, some can be retrieved while others can’t. Mine is both a mechanical failure as well as corrupt data so some of the data is non-retrievable while others can be retrieved in a clean room environment.

    Gee… Sorry to hear that.

It’s frustrating. My HDD went belly-up many times.

Hi Renzze, try asking around. My friend’s hard disk was wiped out accidentally but she managed to retrieve everything FOC by her IT friend. I can help you ask about it if you want to, just email me!
