Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies

Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies (九溪十八涧) has lots of creeks and streams originating from Yangjiawu at Yangmeiling Mountain flowing to this area. A natural scene of meandering waters with lovely forests captivated my heart as I took a hike along this road.

I heard that the scene here is most pretty in April when the water is at their highest. But even then I enjoyed this 6km stroll all the way to the dragon well. There were lots of kids having fun in the little creeks as well!

You need at least 3 to 4 hours to explore this area as it can only be done on foot. No public transport is available. Halfway along the route, near a lagoon, there is a nice Chinese restaurant which would make a nice stop to catch some food and drinks.

I really do love hiking and my regret was that I didn’t have time to visit Tianmu Mountains when I was in Hangzhou, home of the giant trees, because of the constrains of my accommodations.
