My Farmhouse Dinner

One lovely day, we took the dogs to the west for some great outdoors… Singapore is such a tiny island and our farmlands are mostly relegated to the western side. It was refreshing to see so much greenery around. I had considered popping by one of the organics farm to get some fresh produce home but by the time we were done, it was about evening time and all the farms have already shut their doors for the day.

However, we found a little restaurant called AustWine tucked in the depths of Lim Chu Kang.

As the name suggests, they have a selection of imported wines from Australia and I did see a couple of bottles from New Zeland and South America. Most of the labels are specially brought in.

I love that they served the water in a bottle and leave it there for you to refill… saves the hassle of calling for service to top up on ice water. The staffs were pretty friendly too.

Food was average but the pork knuckles ( I think it’s their signature dish) were good. And the calming surroundings filled with nature instead of buildings makes this a pretty nice place for chit chats.

When we settled the bill, I was happy to note that it wasn’t too costly and that they do not charge GST or service charge so what you see on the menu is what you pay. All restaurants really should adopt this policy… I hate hidden charges.

The sun was setting fast so it was time to go but I did manage to capture a photo I really like that day.

The tree with the gorgeous sky was so pretty!

I’m gonna end this post with my usual outfit shorts… nothing fancy… the emphasis was on comfort that day.
