I love White

I’ve always loved white dresses. I’ve so many yet never enough.

Maybe it’s because of it’s simplicity that uncluttered feeling white dresses have. People see the dress but focus on the woman.

i am currently in search of a simple white dress! something simple and basic. i guess i should sew it myself since it’s simple and basic.. sigh. so busy 🙁

i do agree with the simplicity of white dresses, but i don’t think they are suitable for older women, like say late thirties onwards. a white dress at that age will be like waving a flag beseeching for an age of innocence and purity that has been lost and cannot be gotten back.

      xiaoqi,

You should sew one since you have that skill! It would also give you a better sense of accomplishment!

While I agree it’s harder for older women to carry off white, it also depends a great deal on the cut of the dresses worn and the attitude. When in SF, I saw a lady in her 50s in a long white sleeveless maxi dress with a brown floppy hat and no accessories on the beach. She looked elegant and not at all unbecoming for a lady of her age.
