Having blurry visions and farsightedness?

Have you ever felt like reading from your Kindle or computer screen which used to be an easy task is now getting more and more difficult? Presbyopia “Lao Hua” usually occurs beginning at around age 40, when people experience blurred near vision when reading or working at the computer.

For users of corrective lenses (especially when they are young),  being unable to see objects far away clearly has traditionally been a problem. However as they age and their eye condition slowly deteriorate, they might suffer what most people refer to as “long-sightedness”. This means that they are now not only unable to see objects that are far clearly, they are also unable to see close up objects clearly.

Generally long-sightedness can be present in people of all age ranges, however, Presbyopia or “Lao Hua” is only present in people over the age of 40 and it is an inevitable natural ageing process.  You can’t escape presbyopia, even if you’ve never had any vision problem before. Even people who are nearsighted will notice that their near vision blurs when they wear their usual eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct distance vision.

There are many forms of corrective methods such as Presbyopia surgery (LASIK or Conductive Keratoplasty) that people who is suffering from Presbyopia can seek remedy from.

If undergoing surgery to solve this problem is not your cup of tea, CooperVision has now introduced the Proclear 1 day multifocal lens! A multifocal lens, similar to that of progressive lenses, provides a range of powers which provides simultaneous vision. This means that with this lens on, people with Presbyopia will be able to gain perfect vision for both near and far.

For most people (like me), who are already used to wearing corrective contact lenses on a daily basis, switching to something like Proclear 1 day multifocal from Cooper Vision when I get Presbyopia would be quite a natural progression.

One of the most common complaints among people with “Lao Hua” is having to put on and take off their reading glasses all day long. Having to switch between regular glasses and reading glasses is just annoying. Since they do not need to wear the reading glasses unless they are focusing on something near, the glasses are often misplaced or forgotten.

I generally do not like wearing glasses because they hide the eyes from the world and gives me an overly studious look. Bifocal glasses would be worse since they emphasise age. Even people who are used to wearing eyeglasses don’t like the obvious lines and segments of bifocal glasses. While the new no-line progressive addition eyeglass lenses look better, many people find that it gives them a distorted vision between the left and right. This distortion is unavoidable in current progressive eyeglass lens designs.

Proclear 1 day multifocal from Cooper Vision are daily contact lenses, so you’ll get a fresh, new pair every day—definitely a bonus if you have itchy eyes with contacts due to allergies. It’s great choice for those who have never worn contact lenses before to start with as well.

People over-40 people, who are more susceptible than younger people to dry eye syndrome will also appreciate Proclear contacts’ PC Technology™. Their contacts has molecules found naturally in human cell membranes. These molecules attract and surround themselves with water, keeping the disposable contact lenses moist and comfortable for up to 12 hours of wear.

If you know of a family member or friend who is suffering from Presbyopia, bring them down for check with the optometrist now. Left alone, the condition will only get worse, and there’s no reason for your love ones to put up with the headaches and difficulties that can accompany blurry vision.

Currently Coopervision is offering a promotion whereby for a small fee of $15, you not only get an eye check by an eye care professional, you also get a FREE 5-day trial of CooperVision Proclear 1 day multifocal contact lenses.
