Dirty Works

The title of this post sound so…. ah… well… dirty. But it really is more of a vintage girly glam rocking sort of product and party that GlamoGirl threw to showcase Dirty Works range of products retailing in Singapore.

It was held at the Narumi Hotel Suite which I head too right after work. First thing was to get me all ready for the pajamas party and pampered. I wore the Glam Rock PJ tee and threw off my heel so I could slip into the fluffy pink slippers prepared for me.

Before even testing out the products and just viewing what the Dirty Works team did with the bathroom, I could already imagine the Dirty Works products sitting beautifully in my bathroom at home.

Once everyone was comfy in their Glam Rock outfits, we were given the tour of the products, the smells, the textures and the uses. We started on the bed in the Wet Works section where we go to try out the full range of body baths, scrubs, facial washes and wipes.

I can’t begin to express how much I love the packaging. In fact this isn’t the first time I’ve came across Dirty Works. I actually first saw this brand in London and I was immediately captivated by the packaging. But I didn’t buy any cause liquids are heavy and I was on a two months long traveling journey with very limited luggage space. I’m really glad that I get to try them out now.

My personal faves in the wet works section is their facial wipes which is perfect for they gym or on long road trips, the buttery salt scrub and the body wash. All basic necessities for the bathroom that doesn’t look boring at all!

Next stop was the dry works section. Over at this area, we got to try out all the creams and lotions that you can pamper yourself with after you’ve finished with your bath and scrubs in the bathroom. We were really spoilt for choices.

My faves for this section will be the body butter and the shimmer lotion. The Shimmer Lotion does exactly what you think it does. It gives your skin a light tinge of shimmer. I love how it seems dark when you first pour it on your hands but as your apply it over your body, it blends in and gives your body a beautiful glow! Perfect lotion to apply when wearing those low cut  tops or low back dresses so that your skin would sparkle!

And a pampering spa party cannot succeed without some munchies and crazy girls in the mix!

My last stop was to check out their nail polishes! You need to have some color on the nails to bring out the Glam Rock vibes!

Exposed nail polishes are also from the UK and they have a huge range of colors. I love the neons and the pastels. It has been awhile since I had any time to do my nails so I was more than grateful for this session 🙂

If you thought my party with Dirty Works ended there, well… you are only partially right. I went home with some of their products and was able to pamper myself and smell great in the comforts of my own home as well.

Here’s my mini luxuries set to get me started!

I’ve tried the body wash and the body lotion but left out the bath soak. The bath soak is already packed in my bag for my next holiday trip cause I really can’t bear to do baths most of the time unless I’m on a beach/villa holiday. It’s really an odd little quirk I have but I don’t really enjoy baths unless I start one with the intention to block out the rest of the world. If I don’t do my baths in the right conditions and mindset, I’ll be a little panicky in the bathtub wondering how much time (and water) I’m wasting.

If you want to get your hands on some of these super lovely vintage looking luxuries, you can enjoy 20% off all GlamoGirl products at www.glamogirl.com with the promo code “iloveglamogirl”, valid from now till 31st December 2012.
